In tune with lawyers…
In the run up to the recent announcement of our demerger into two separate companies, we took the opportunity to review our existing brand, not least to emphasise that we are now focussed purely on the recruitment of lawyers.
First Counsel will carry on with a focus on the recruitment of lawyers for firms, companies, banks and other financial institutions. We wish our former colleagues, now branded as Totum Partners, well as they pursue their ambition to champion talent in the dynamic and growing field of law firm management.
Anyone who has been through a branding or re-branding exercise will know the kind of conversations we have been having: the excitement of talking about what you are and what you hope to achieve, and the frustrations of trying to articulate elusive ideas and concepts like culture, what makes us different, why are we doing this? “If you were a car what would you be?” and so on…
Branding and employer branding are crucial for all organisations, but just as with law firms it can sometimes feel that you are basically putting a new skin or label on exactly the same tin as everyone else. Recruitment is recruitment. All recruiters are the same. You often hear it said that all law firms are basically the same, but of course it’s not true. People are different and people make cultures within firms and companies.People live and deliver brands. At First Counsel we are convinced of that, which is why we are delighted with our new branding.
Our new look is an evolution of what First Counsel has always been about. We are now focussed on the recruitment of lawyers and the same values underpin what we do, namely listening to the aspirations and careers aims of our candidates and getting to know and understand our clients and their strategic aims thoroughly, so that we can match those as closely as possible.
Our brand reiteration is all about empathising with people from the perspective of an in depth knowledge and understanding of the legal profession, and what is realistic and achievable.
We hope that you like the new look and feel of our website and this latest evolution of our brand. We would welcome your feedback.
Its intention is to convey our commitment to providing an empathetic and high calibre service to our clients and those who come to us for career advice. Our stated intention is to set a new standard of service attuned the market we serve; we know it’s up to us to live up to the bold statements of our brand and we look forward to working with you as we pursue that goal.
